'My Mental Health Was Not Good': Remo D' Souza Talks About His Experience When His Films Failed

Remo D'Souza opened up about his struggles and mental stress when his films did not perform well at the box office.

New Delhi: Choreographer and film director Remo D'Souza opened up about his struggles and mental stress when his films did not perform well at the box office during a recent appearance as a celebrity guest on the dance reality show 'India's Best Dancer 3.' Remo empathised with Akshay Pal, a contestant from Madhya Pradesh, who had also experienced a challenging journey. Remo shared that he had faced similar struggles in his career as a filmmaker.

During the show, Remo was impressed by Akshay and his choreographer Vartika Jha's performance on the song 'Chammak Challo' from the movie 'Ra. One.' Remo complimented Vartika's choreography and praised Akshay's talent as an artist, stating that he had set a high standard for the other contestants.

Remo recalled his experience after his movies didn’t work, "Akshay, I have seen your journey. I know that you have struggled a lot. I have even struggled a lot. I make films, but some films don't work, you make one that does not work, the second one does not do as well as the third and then I stopped, my mental health was not good. Yet, I rose up again and challenged myself, to make myself better."

Remo encouraged Akshay to persevere and never lose hope, as the journey to self-improvement is the most rewarding.

Akshay also expressed his admiration for Remo. He credited Remo as an inspiration in his life and expressed his desire to emulate him. "Sir, I have learned dance watching all of you. Now that you are in front of me, this feels like a dream. When I first started dancing, there was a dance competition that I participated in and Remo sir, you were a judge in that. It's been ages now, and you won't remember. You did not know me but you are a very big part of my life. Now I am seeing you in front of me. You are my inspiration and I want to be like you," Akshay said

'India's Best Dancer 3' is judged by Terence Lewis, Geeta Kapur, and Sonali Bendre, and airs on Sony Entertainment Television.
