Bigg Boss 18: Karan Veer Mehra Opens Up About Sushant Singh Rajput’s Emotional Support And How He Helped Him Fight ‘Alcoholism’

New Delhi: In the most recent episode of ‘Bigg Boss 18’, renowned journalists Shweta Singh, Saurabh Dwivedi, and Rohit Khilnani met with each contestant individually. During his one-on-one conversation with journalist Saurabh Dwivedi, Karan Veer Mehra opened up about his struggles with alcohol and shared insights into his close friendship with Sushant Singh Rajput, who tragically passed away at a young age.

Karan acknowledged that he had been an alcoholic for a long time, but he was able to kick the habit thanks to Sushant Singh Rajput’s encouragement and advice. He shared, "Sushant helped me a lot. My career was at a low point. He was an engineering student, so he kept his points clear-cut and methodical. He even planned his life meticulously, envisioning where he wanted to be in the next five years."

Karan Veer Mehra On Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death

The news of Sushant's death came as a devastating blow, and Karan reflected on the tragedy by admitting he had never thought his friend would need help. “No, I didn’t feel that he needed help. It was a major shocker when it happened. He was a very sorted guy. He had a diary where he listed the names of 10-12 directors he wanted to work with. By 2010-2011, he had already worked with 8-9 of them," the actor said. 

For the unversed, Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide in June 2020. Karan recalled the moment he heard of Sushant’s untimely demise, saying, "When I heard about it, I was in Delhi. He was very close to my mom and our family. When the news came out, I called my mom to take it calmly. He was a family man and close to me. I was shell-shocked when this happened."
