In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Bijlani reflected on his recovery process, “The recovery is going well. I am at home, consuming light meals. I am undergoing a complete detox. It feels like a second chance at life because my appendix was dangerously swollen. It was on the verge of bursting. Fortunately, I reached the hospital just in time, and they performed the operation immediately”.

The 41-year-old confessed that he initially dismissed the pain as a mere stomach ache, only realising the severity of the situation when it became unbearable.

“One month ago, I experienced stomach pain. I halted shooting and rested in my vanity van after taking painkillers. I didn't pay much heed to it... This time, when the pain persisted despite medication, I rushed to the emergency room, where I was diagnosed with appendicitis and promptly underwent surgery. I was fortunate to have been saved; even the doctor acknowledged this. It could have been fatal,” Bijlani told Hindustan Times.

Although apprehensive about the surgery, Bijlani acknowledged that it was necessary for his well-being.

“I asked the doctors if they could prescribe some tablets, but they declined, stating that I was fortunate it hadn't ruptured yet,” he shared.

Following his discharge from the hospital, Bijlani is prioritising his health and proceeding with caution.

“At the moment, I am technically working. Some close-up shots were taken the day after the surgery, and recently, some camera crew visited my home to capture more close-ups. However, I will commence shooting on set on Sunday. I will be pacing myself and avoiding strenuous activities. I can't engage in rigorous physical tasks. I am taking it easy because it's about my life and well-being,” he was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

“My advice to people is, if your stomach ache persists, please undergo an ultrasound. Don't neglect your health. I was literally saved in the nick of time,” he added.

Arjun plays Shiv in the popular daily soap ‘Pyaar Ka Pehla Adhyaya ShivShakti'.
