Suniel Shetty Says Rising Death In Gyms Because Of ‘Supplements’ And ‘Steroids’: 'Workout Is Not The Problem'

The death of TV actor Siddhaanth Vir Surryavanshi has once again raised concerns over death due to gymming. Suniel Shetty, who is one of the fittest actors in Bollywood, has blamed it on steroids.

New Delhi: The death of TV actor Siddhaanth Vir Surryavanshi has once again raised concerns over death due to gymming. Before Siddhanth, comedian Raju Srivastava, superstar Puneeth Rajkumar, and Salman Khan's 50-year-old body double Sagar Pandey had also died during or after working out in a gym.

Now Suniel Shetty, who is one of the fittest actors in Bollywood, has blamed it on steroids. In an interview with the Times of India, the actor said, “The problem lies in the supplements they take, the steroids they consume. The workout is not the problem. No, they are not stretching themselves beyond their limits. It's heart failure and not heart attack when one indulges in supplements and steroids."

He also said that eating right and right amount of sleep is also necessary for a healthy body. "Also, it is about eating right and getting the right amount of sleep. All these things play a role. And mind you, by eating right I don't mean dieting. By eating right I mean nutrition. The nutrition has to be correct and adequate," he was quoted as saying by Times of India.

Another reason Suniel gave was Covid. “I must add here that post-COVID, we need to do the test that tells us whether our blood is forming clots (D-Dimer Test). COVID is leading to blood clotting and that can be dangerous,” he told the Times of India.

On the work front, Suniel Shetty will next be seen in the web series Dharavi Bank. The crime thriller also stars Vivek Oberoi and will release on November 19 on MX Player.

Suniel Shetty will also be seen with Anurag Kashyap in File No 323. The film though has landed in trouble even before the start of filming. The film is reportedly based on the the lives of alleged Indian financial fugitives like Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi. Choksi's lawyer, Ayush Jindal, has served a cease and desist order to the makers of the film.
