It was in February, when the song 'Naatu Naatu' from 'RRR' won the Best Oscar in the Original Song category. It also brought home a Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award honour besides felicitation at the International Saturn Awards.

'RRR' is an epic-period action drama that tells the fictional story of two real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem and their fight against the British Raj. SS Rajamouli brought together two different timelines to make the two revolutionaries meet each other.

Set in the 1920s, the plot explores the undocumented period in their lives when both the revolutionaries chose to go into obscurity before they began the fight for their country.

‘RRR’ released on March 25 last year and collected more than Rs. 1200 crores at the worldwide box office thanks to many re-release programs called ‘Encore’ in the United States. Now, with its record-making theatrical run in Japan, the film seems to have been profitable from the beginning for its makers.
