This film is a remake of the Telugu film Ooruki Monagadu (1981) and it is considered to be a breakthrough in her career. It also established Sridevi as one of the best dancing actors in the country. The romantic-comedy film was the highest grossing film of the year 1983. Sridevi also set the benchmark for Nagin characters and it was the second film which became the highest grosser of the year 1986. Mr. India (1987): It is loved by boomers and millennials alike; in the film she acts opposite Anil Kapoor. Even though the film is about Anil Kapoor’s character, Sridevi’s portrayal of Seema was undeniably memorable. Her wit and sensuality both were visible in this film, her iconic golden dress and her blue sari were the other reason to remember this film and which set her as a style icon. English Vinglish (2012): After a hiatus, Sridevi made a huge comeback with English Vinglish, in which she played a housewife who enrolls in an English-speaking course after her husband and daughter's mocking of her English skills. The film and Sridevi's performance received positive response and showed that the witty, charismatic actor had matured acting skills. Sridevi was one of those gifted actors who was unique blend of beauty, talent and heart. She left her fans a string of film through which she will be remembered for years to come.
