Rajinikanth's 'Vettaiyan' To Release This Dussehra, Actor Also Gives Update On Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Coolie'
The production of Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Coolie’ is in progress, and ‘Vettaiyan’ is expected to release later this year.
New Delhi: In 2024, Rajinikanth’s fans are in for a treat. Superstar Rajinikanth has announced some interesting new details about his forthcoming projects while on his yearly spiritual journey to the Himalayas. A new video from Rajinikanth's tour shows him chatting with a yogi about his next projects, including ‘Coolie’ with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and ‘Vettaiyan’ with filmmaker TJ Gnanavel.
According to Rajinikanth, ‘Vettaiyan’ would be released in time for Dussehra. Speaking with a yogi, the actor said, "Vettaiyan' will release for Dussehra. I have completed my portions. The shooting with other members of the cast is still going on. The film will release on October 10 or so."
Additionally, Rajinikanth spoke about his flick Coolie. He said, “There’s a new picture as well. I start shooting for it from June 10 onwards.”

Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Collaboration
The film 'Coolie' marks Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj's debut project together. In the action-thriller ‘Vikram’, the two had previously collaborated with Kamal Haasan. The announcement of Coolie's production by Sun Pictures came in September 2023. The remaining cast members, meanwhile, have not been revealed as yet.

T J Gnanavel, known for his work on 'Jai Bhim', directs the political thriller 'Vettaiyan'. The film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. 'Vettaiyan' has an impressive ensemble cast that includes Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rao Ramesh, Rakshan, G.M. Sundar, and many more in significant parts. Reports indicate that Fahadh Faasil will most likely portray a villain.
