‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ is an upcoming Kannada-language period action thriller set during the Kadamba dynasty in Banavasi. Directed and written by Rishab Shetty, the film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films and serves as a prequel to the 2022 film ‘Kantara’. Rishab Shetty stars in the lead role. Filming began in November 2023, with a planned release in late 2024. The first look and teaser were released on November 27, 2023.
