Kalki 2898 AD Makers Drop Hint On Filming Of Prabhas And Amitabh Bachchan Starrer Sequel; Know Details

Makers of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, directed by Nag Ashwin, Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies shared that filming of the sequel will begin soon. The movie will start filming in 2025, according to News18.

When will Prabhas's Kalki 2898 AD sequel filming begin?

At the Moscow International Film Week, Priyanka said, “The filming will start in the next five or six months (January or February 2025). Once it starts, we’ll be able to talk more about it.”

Swapna added, “This time around, there’s a lot more excitement than nervousness. I think there will be a lot more planning now. Whatever we did for part one, we were all just going by Nag Ashwin’s vision. It often happens that you don’t understand most of the things until you actually see the visuals. Now that we’ve seen everything that Nagi has done and understood the way the audience has received it, we’re going on to part two with an altogether different energy."

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan. Alongside the lead actors, Saswata Chatterjee, Brahmanandam, Shobana, Anil George, and Disha Patani also feature in the sci-fi film. The movie has become one of the biggest hit of 2024, earning more than Rs 1100 crore at the global box office. Set in the post-apocalyptic city of Kashi in the year 2898 AD, the film revolves around a small group of people who are sent on a quest to save Kalki, a lab subject's unborn child.

Prabhas plays the role of Bhairava, the Mahabharata character who is Karna's reincarnation. Amitabh portrays the immortal character Ashwatthama. Deepika is SUM-80, also known as Sumathi, while Kamal Haasan is Supreme Yaskin.
