Kalki 2898 AD Movie Review LIVE Updates: 'Kalki 2898 AD' has released amid much anticipation among fans. As one of the most anticipated films of the year, Nag Ashwin's magnum opus has become the first-of-a-kind epic sci-fi film to release on such a grand scale in India and abroad. A lot of expectation is also riding high with the film.
Mounted on a budget of Rs. 600 cr, and being toutted as the most expensive film in Indian cinematic history, 'Kalki 2898 AD' has used the best available film technology to bring Ashwin's grand futuristic vision into reality on celluloid.
'Kalki 2898 AD' stars the likes of superstars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Prabhas. Disha Patani and SS Rajamouli will also be seen in cameos in the film.
Produced by C Ashwani Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies, the film was primarily shot in Telugu and some parts in Hindi.
Drawing heavily from Hindu scriptures and modern Hollywoodian genre of science fiction in films such as 'Blade Runner', 'Kalki 2898 AD' is a one of kind project.
The film's setting is in the post-apocalyptic world, and the year is 2898 AD.
With music by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic, production design by Nitin Zihani Choudhary, and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, the film is planned to be the prototype and the beginning of what will be called the Kalki Cinematic Universe.
Set in the desertified city of Kasi, under a totalitarian elite, god king Yaskin( Kamal Haasan), who lives in the Complex , the film chronicles the story of a millennia, spanning from Mahabharata in the year 3102 BC to the beginning of Kali Yuga, 2898 AD.
The film's primary narrative revolves around the enigmatic figure of Kalki, the tenth and final avatar of the Hindu deity, Vishnu.
'Kalki 2898 AD' has reeleased in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. This pan-India film is expected to have a bumper box office opening both in India and abroad.
Audiences will have to wait and see what 'Kalki 2898 AD' brings to the Indian silver screen.

Director Rajamouli took to X and praised Nag Ashwin's directorial. He wrote, "Loved the world-building of #Kalki2898AD… It transported me into various realms with its incredible settings. Kudos to Nagi and the entire Vyjayanthi team for their unmatched efforts in executing it."
