'Vidaamuyarchi' has been directed by Magizh Thirumeni and bankrolled by Lyca productions. As fans await the release of 'Vidaamuyarchi', here is everything you need to know about the film. 

Remake of Breakdown

Not many know that 'Vidaamuyarchi' is a remake of the 1997 Hollywood crime thriller 'Breakdown'. The original starred Kurt Russell and was written and directed by Jonathan Mostow. While the Tamil remake has been made keeping the cultural aspects intact, the core of the film would be similar to 'Breakdown' and follows a similar narrative device, that is the plot of the film takes over course of one day. 

A release after two years

'Vidaamuyarchi' is releasing after two years. Ajith Kumar was last seen in 2023 in 'Thunivu'. The action star who is known for his distinctive acting style is said to be dedicated 121 days to this film and wanted to make a good film for people that will entertain them.

Action sequences

Ajith Kumar is a massive star when it comes to action sequences, and has done many on bikes and cars, and not just in movies but many in films as well. Every action buff's inspiration, Ajith Kumar will also be seen in full-fledged action avatar in 'Vidaamuyarchi'. Several BTS clips on the social media handle of the production house have shown Ajith performing tough stunts in the rough terrain, including a race car sequence which is allegedly the highlight of the film. 

Chemistry

Many fans are waiting for Trisha and Ajith Kumar to reunite on screen after almost a decade. The 'Ponniyin Selvan' actress has been delivering hits one after the other, and like Ajith Kumar, has been on the top of her game for some time now. The two actors were last seen together in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s 'Yennai Arindhal in 2015 will reunite in this action thriller. Trisha and Ajith have worked together on four films together. 

An Anirudh Ravichander musical

Anirudh Ravichander, is known for his trendy music and has made music for Ajith Kumar earlier as well. This is the third time Anirudh is composing music for an Ajith Kumar film with 'Vidaamuyarchi'. 

Azerbaijan angle

'Vidaamuyarchi' has extensively shot in Azerbaijan on a long schedule. As per reports, this is the first Tamil film to have been shot mostly in a foreign location. As per reports, 'Vidaamuyarchi' had two long schedules( nearly three months) in the Eastern European country. 

Arjun Sarja the antagonist

Arjun Sarja, the 62-year-old will essay the role of the antagonist in the Ajith Kumar film. The actor who has previously done several patriotic films will play the role of Rakshith and will share the screen with Ajith Kumar  after 14 years. The two worked together in the superhit film in 2011, 'Mankatha'. Earlier, Sanjay Dutt was supposed to play the role of the chief antagonist before Sarja was roped in.
