New Delhi: The global premiere of R Madhavan's ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’, a biographical drama, will take place on May 19 at Cannes Film Festival 2022. Anurag Thakur, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, verified this report on Wednesday. The event is set to take place from May 17 to May 25 in New York City. The film is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist and aerospace engineer who was wrongfully convicted of espionage.
The biography will be released on July 1. The film, which was shot in Tamil, Hindi, and English, will also be released in Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada.
R Madhavan said, “I’m in a daze! I just started by wanting to tell the story of Nambi Narayanan and I’m unable to believe all that’s happening. With God’s grace, we’ve waited long and I’m grateful and thrilled to watch all good things happening for the film. As a debut director, my nervousness is making it difficult for me to breathe & all I hope is to make India proud."
The film was shot in India, France, Canada, Georgia, and Serbia on a large scale. The film is produced by TriColour Films. Recent screenings of the film's trailer were placed at the Expo 2022 Dubai, where it garnered an enthusiastic response from the public.
Superstars like Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya will make cameo appearances in the film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’.
