Pasoori By Ali Sethi Surpasses K-Pop Band BTS' Butter To Become The Most-Googled Song Globally In 2022
The most Googled music worldwide this year is Pakistani singer Ali Sethi's viral hit Pasoori, which has surpassed BTS' Butter.
New Delhi: Pasoori, a song by Pakistani singer Ali Sethi, which has been a massive hit and beat BTS' Butter to become the most-Googled song this year.
According to Google's "Year in Search 2022," the most significant trends in search during the previous 11+ months have been listed. Google has identified the top 10 searches in each category, including personalities, movies, news affairs, and many more. And it seems like global hits have been defeated by melodies from the subcontinent in the category of the best songs.

The Punjabi song Pasoori, sung by Ali and Shae Gill, was released earlier this year during the 14th season of Coke Studio. The song became a trending track on social media platforms like Instagram, which inspired countless covers all around the globe. Despite K-pop superband BTS' enormous global popularity, the song outperformed Butter. Another single from Korean artists, titled Dynamite, is also included in the top 10 songs.
The only other band with several entries in the list is Imagine Dragons, who have Enemy and Believer at the fifth and sixth positions, respectively.
Two songs from India also made the top 10. Chaand Baaliyan by Aditya A, which came in at number three, managed to beat a number of international hits. The Telugu hit from last year, Srivalli, from 'Pushpa: The Rise', ended in the top ten at the last place.
The list also includes songs from French singer Indila from 2014, Ainsi bas la vida, which is at the 8th spot, and the Backstreet Boys' 1997 mega hit Everybody, which has climbed to number 9 even after 25 years of its release.
