Director Venky Atluri’s Lucky Baskhar, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Meenakshi Chaudhary, is set for its OTT release. On Monday, Netflix India officially announced that the film will premiere on the platform on November 28.

Lucky Baskhar OTT Release Date

About the Film

In Lucky Baskhar, Dulquer Salmaan portrays a banker named Baskhar who, striving to improve his family’s life, embarks on a risky path for financial gain.

Speaking about the film, Dulquer shared in an interview with Hindustan Times, “The character is fictional, but the story, which takes place over a span of three years (1989 onwards), is inspired by real-life incidents and scams. The director, Venky Atluri, has done a lot of research, and it’s detailed well, as you can see with the use of financial terminology, banking procedures, etc.”

Theatrical Release and Reception

Lucky Baskhar, also featuring Meenakshi Chaudhary, hit theatres on October 31 and garnered positive reviews from both critics and audiences. The film performed well at the box office, earning over ₹80 crore nett in India.

Dulquer Salmaan’s Telugu Journey

This film marks Dulquer’s third venture in Telugu cinema. His first was the 2018 blockbuster Mahanati, directed by Nag Ashwin, where he played Gemini Ganesan opposite Keerthy Suresh’s Savitri. The film also starred Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vijay Deverakonda. His second was the 2022 hit Sita Ramam, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and co-starring Mrunal Thakur. Both films achieved significant success.

Upcoming Projects

Dulquer Salmaan will next feature in Suriya’s upcoming film, directed by Sudha Kongara of Soorarai Pottru fame. The project also stars Vijay Varma and Nazriya Nazim Fahadh.
