New Delhi: 'Heeramandi' on Netflix is receiving a lot of attention post its release on Netflix. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed web series starring an ensemble cast including the likes of Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Shaikh has now become the most-viewed Indian series on streaming giant Netflix.
Heeramandi becomes most-viewd Indian series on Netflix
'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' released on May 1, 2024. Within its first week of release, the series became the most-viewed Indian series on the OTT platform.
Catching everyone's attention for its opulence and grandeur, 'Heeramandi' is trending in the Top 10 chart across 43 countries. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial is also on the number 2 position in Non-English TV list with some 4.5 million views, and 33 million accumulated viewership hours.
As of now, 'Heermandi: The Diamond Bazaar' is ahead of 'The Great Indian Kapil Show' which premiered at number three spot a few weeks ago with soem 2.5 million views.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali expressed elation at the commendable feat. He said, “Heeramandi has been a labour of love and I thank everyone who has worked on the show. I’m delighted to have collaborated with Netflix on my very first series and I am humbled by the love and appreciation we are receiving from the audiences in India and globally.”
Monika Shergill, Vice-President - Content, Netflix India also shared her views about the same.
