'Oh My Dog' Producer Suriya Sivakumar Praises Arun Vijay's Son's Performance In Film
'Oh My Dog' has received a mixed response from critics & audiences alike. While some have appreciated this new move in Tamil cinema, others have called the film 'generic'.
New Delhi: 'Oh My Dog' producer Suriya Sivakumar is all praises for actor Arun Vijay's son Arnav, who made his acting debut with the film.
Actor and Producer Suriya took to his official Twitter handle to write, "It’s pure joy & happiness to see #ArnavVijay & #Simba…! Thank you @arunvijayno1 and Vijaykumar sir for making #OhMyDogOnPrime happen!"
In response actor Arun Vijay tweeted, "Blessed to have had this opportunity to work together brother!!❤ It was an absolute joy for Arnav to have started his journey with #OhMyDog.. Thank you for everything, from all of us..❤."
In 'Oh My Dog', Arnav Vijay portrays a boy named Arjun, who comes across an abandoned Siberian Husky dog( Simba). He decided to adopt Simba. Arjun also needs 2 lakh rupees to get Simba's eyesight restored and also help it participate in a dog competition.
'Oh My Dog' released on Amazon Prime Video on 21st April 2022. It has received a mixed response from critics and audiences alike. While some have appreciated this new move in Tamil cinema, others have called the film very 'generic'.
Film director Sarov Shanmugam also made his debut as a director with ‘Oh My God’. The film has also been in the limelight because of its portrayal of three generations of men from the same family. Vijaykumar, Arun Vijay, and Arnav Vijay as grandfather-son-grandson in the film.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, director Sarov commented on how the casting for the three generations happened: “Nothing was planned, everything happened organically. The story is about a strong bond between grandchild and grandfather, that's how the casting went about."
"I had this story for a very long time. I wanted to make a film only for the kids, a heartwarming film. The moment I shared this idea, Suriya sir motivated me to go for it. It was him who suggested getting Arnav onboard,” he added
