YouTuber Refuses To Pay Rs 500 Cr To Akshay Kumar After Actor Serves Defamation Notice For Linking Him With SSR's Case

YouTuber Rashid Siddiqui asked Akshay Kumar to withdraw the defamation notice or else he would take 'legal action' against the 'Laxmii' star.

New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar served a defamation notice to YouTuber Rashid Siddiqui, who alleged that the 'PadMan' actor helped Rhea Chakraborty in escaping to Canada. Khiladi Kumar filed a 500 crore suit against the YouTuber for making 'false allegations' against the 'Rustom' star in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. According to a report in PTI, Siddhiqui has refused to pay Rs 500 crore damages sought by Akshay. The YouTuber said that there was nothing 'defamatory' in his videos and asked the 'Good Newwz' actor to withdraw the notice or else he would initiate 'legal action' against him, the report in the news agency said. The YouTuber, in his reply sent through his advocate J P Jayswal, mentioned that the Akshay's allegations against him were 'false and raised with the intent to harass him.' For the uninitiated, Akshay served a notice to Rashid for falsely claiming that he aided Rhea Chakraborty and held secret talks with Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya Thackeray about SSR's death. According to a report in Mid-Day, Rashid was able to earn over Rs 15 lakh from the content he shared on YouTube after the death of Sushant. He came into notice after the Shiv Sena registered a case against the YouTuber. The horror comedy drama co-starring Kiara Advani is the Hindi remake of Tamil hit 'Kanchana'. Akshay starrer 'Sooryavanshi', which was originally slated to hit the silver screens in March 2020, will now release in the first quarter of 2021. The producers are to make any official announcement about the same. Akshay will be seen romancing Katrina Kaif in the cop drama which has been directed by Rohit Shetty. Talking about Sushant Singh Rajput, the 'Pavitra Rishta' star was found dead at his apartment on June 14 in Mumbai. Three Central agencies including the Central Bureau of Investigation, the Enforcement Directorate and the Narcotics Control Bureau are investigating the death case. Watch this space for more updates!
