Although specific details about the project remain undisclosed, Adarsh shared that the film would be produced by Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films. Furthermore, the release date for the film has already been finalised for next year. The note disclosed that Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan's next collaboration is slated to hit the big screens on Gandhi Jayanti in 2025.

Accompanying the announcement was a collage picture featuring David Dhawan, Varun Dhawan, and Ramesh Taurani, shared by Taran Adarsh, who wrote, "David Dhawan - Varun Dhawan - Tips join hands for new film… #VarunDhawan and director #DavidDhawan reunite for a fresh project [not titled yet], which will be produced by #RameshTaurani of #TipsFilms. The makers have also locked the release date of this entertainer: [Thursday] 2 Oct 2025 #GandhiJayanti."

Previously, Varun Dhawan collaborated with his father in the remake of Coolie No. 1, where he starred alongside Sara Ali Khan. Additionally, the father-son duo has previously worked together on projects like ‘Main Tera Hero’ and ‘Judwaa 2’.

Varun Dhawan's performance for his dad
Recently, at the 2024 Filmfare Awards, Varun Dhawan paid a heartfelt tribute to his father with an electrifying performance. In a video shared by Varun on Instagram, he danced to the iconic track "Filmon Ke Sare Hero," originally featuring Govinda from the 1990 movie Swarg, directed by David Dhawan. During the performance, a poignant moment unfolded as Varun respectfully touched his father's feet. David Dhawan, visibly moved, was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony.
