The Mehta Boys trailer: The trailer of Boman Irani’s directorial 'The Mehta Boys' was released on Wednesday. Also starring Avinash Tiwary and Shreya Chaudhry, the trailer of the film gives a glimpse into an emotionally charged story of a father and a son where misunderstandings, unresolved conflicts, and deep-seated resentment take center stage.

The Mehta Boys' trailer

The trailer opens with Boman Irani’s character moving into his son Amay’s (played by Avinash Tiwary) apartment for a short 48-hour stay. Right from the start, their fractured relationship is evident—Boman’s character is stubborn and irritable, while Amay is visibly detached and uninterested in mending their bond. Their interactions begin as lighthearted banter but soon unravel into intense confrontations, forcing both men to face long-buried emotions.

The film’s IMDb synopsis captures the essence of the story: “After the loss of his mother, Amay, a struggling young architect is forced to live for 48 hours with the one person he cannot stand—his father. It seems like a recipe for disaster. Wrong! It’s much worse.”

Boman Irani on The Mehta Boys

Speaking about the film, Boman Irani shared his deep personal connection with the story. “For me, The Mehta Boys is an extremely personal journey. The relationship between a father and son is one of the most complex and emotionally charged dynamics. With this film, I wanted to delve into how the bond between two people who deeply care for each other can be tested by time, misunderstandings, and unresolved issues. It is a story that has stayed with me for years, and I’m thrilled to finally share it with audiences in India and across the world on Prime Video. I am deeply grateful to the talented cast for bringing their characters to life with such depth and authenticity, enriching the story in every way.”

I am proud to be part of a movie that explores such relatable themes of family ties and reconciliation.”

The film has been co-written by Boman Irani and Academy Award winner Alex Dinelaris. It is produced under the banner of Irani Movietone LLP in collaboration with Chalkboard Entertainment LLP, with Danesh Irani, Vikesh Bhutani, and Shujaat Saudagar as producers.
