Priyanka responded to the post and wrote, “Thanks my friend.”

Created by Russo Brothers' AGBO and showrunner David Weil, the first two episodes of the six-episode series premiered on April 28. It premiered in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

The series got a lukewarm response from critics and audiences alike, with many praising Priyanka Chopra’s performance but are left underwhelmed by the script and the execution.

Citadel review
ABP Live's review of the first two episodes read, "Citadel's narrative isn't really its strongest point. You usually have a good idea of what will happen next. For a show marketed as a spy thriller, predictability is a curse, and Citadel suffers as a result. Although the story has many twists and turns, you won't be on the edge of your seat or forced to sit up. The action scenes and the outstanding cinematography, however, make up for the lack of an exciting and suspenseful storyline. The series is given a stylish gloss by the frantic camera movement and constant transitions between blurred and in-focus shots." (Click here to read the full review)

'Citadel' and its subsequent series traverse the globe with interconnected stories. Each Citadel series is locally created, produced, and filmed in-region, and stars top talent, forming a distinct global franchise. Series are already underway in Italy and India, respectively, starring Matilda De Angelis, Varun Dhawan, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
