George Floyd Death: Kangana Ranaut HITS OUT At Bollywood Celebs For Reacting On Black Lives Matter; Says 'They Were Silent During Sadhu Lychings'

The 'Queen' actress expressed her anger towards the Bollywood celebs stood in unity with the stars from the Hollywood entertainment industry by tweeting about #BlackLivesMatter

While a host of Bollywood celebrities including Karan Johar, Karisma Kapoor and others stood in unity with the stars from the Hollywood entertainment industry by tweeting about #BlackLivesMatter on social media, actress Kangana Ranaut has lashed out at them for failing to condemn local injustices, including their silence on the Palghar Sadhu lynching.

In an interview to Pinkvilla, Kangana said, “The Sadhu lynching happened a couple of weeks ago; still no one said a word. It happened in Maharashtra where most of these celebrities reside…Bollywood anyway is a derived name from Hollywood. It is a shame they [Bollywood celebrities] continue to live in a bubble and never fail to jump on the bandwagon, which can give them two minutes of fame, but ‘white people’ must drive the bandwagon. Perhaps, it is because of their pre-independence colonial slavery genes.” The 'Queen' actress expressed her anger towards the Bollywood celebs who continue to “live on bubble without failing to join the bandwagon”.

This is not the first time when Kangana has lashed out at her Bollywood fraternity, she had earlier slammed B-town colleagues for not being vocal on the protests organised against the Citizenship Amendment Act, calling a section of the industry ‘sissies’, ‘cowards’ and ‘spineless’. Meanwhile, scores of Hollywood actors observed the 'Blackout Tuesday' and extended the message of solidarity in response to the death of George Floyd. Actors including Gal Gadot and 'Riverdale' star Lili Reinhart posted a plain black post on Instagram, as an indication of the movement 'Black Lives Matter.' Around 4,000 people across the United States have been arrested during the massive protests over the death of African-American man George Floyd last month.
