Gadar 2 Box Office Collection Day 17: Sunny Deol Starrer Becomes Fastest Film To Cross Rs 450 Cr, Beats Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan

Sunny Deol-starrer ‘Gadar 2’ is continuing its dream run at the box office and has crossed the Rs 450 crore mark at the domestic box office.

New Delhi: Sunny Deol-starrer ‘Gadar 2’ is continuing its dream run at the box office and has crossed the Rs 450 crore mark at the domestic box office. The film has become the fastest film to cross Rs 450 crore mark at the box office, leaving behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Prabhas’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. 

While Gadar 2 achieved the feat in 17 days, Pathaan and Baahubali 2 took 18 and 20 days to cross Rs 450 crore. 

In a post on X, production house Zee Studios said ‘Gadar 2’ had raised Rs 456.05 crore at the ticket window since its release on August 11. 

"THANK YOU, for making Hindustan ki asli blockbuster break records!" the banner captioned the tweet. 

 

Director Anil Sharma also took to X to express his gratitude to the audience. 

"The #GADAR cont .. It's people's film for people .. (sic)" the director wrote. 

Directed by Anil Sharma, the Hindi feature film is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", which also starred Deol and Ameesha Patel. 

Sunny Deol recently took to Instagram when the film had crossed Rs 400 crore and thanked the audience for showering love on the film. He posted a video message for his fans and said, "First and foremost thank you all that you liked the film so much.  I never imagined you guys would like Gadar 2 so much.. We have crossed 400 crores because of you all and we will go ahead.”

He credited the film’s success to his fans.

Sunny added: “This all happened because of you all. You liked the film, Tara Singh and Sakeena. Thank you.”

Set in 1971, ‘Gadar 2’ follows Tara Singh (Deol)'s journey to Pakistan to rescue his son, Charanjeet Singh (Utkarsh Sharma) from the Pakistani Army. It also features Patel, Manish Wadhwa and Gaurav Chopra.
