Varun Dhawan’s ‘Coolie No.1’ New Poster Gets COVID-19 Twist, Actor Wears Mask
Varun Dhawan wore a mask in the new poster of 'Coolie No. 1', giving an interesting COVID-19 twist to it.
New Delhi: Movie buffs have been eagerly waiting for Varun Dhawan’s ‘Coolie No.1’ ever since David Dhawan announced the remake of his film. The comedy drama co-starring Sara Ali Khan was slated to hit the silver screens on May 1, 2020. However, the flick couldn’t release on its scheduled date as the cinema halls were closed due to COVID-19 pandemic. The makers are yet to reveal the new release date of ‘Coolie No. 1’.
Varun Dhawan shared a new poster of ‘Coolie No.1’ on Thursday (June 11), giving a COVID-19 twist to it. The ‘Kalank’ actor can be seen sporting a mask while donning Coolie’s avatar. He mentioned that the film will definitely tickle the funny bone of the audience despite the delay due to Coronavirus crisis.

After sharing the poster, Varun Dhawan shared a throwback picture with the film’s cast on his Instagram story. The ‘October’ actor can be seen posing with Paresj Rawal, Javed Jaffrey, Sahil Vaid and Rajpal Yadav. (Source- Instagram)A report in a leading daily had earlier suggested that ‘Coolie No.1’ would release in the second half of 2020.
“The call will be taken only after the situation gets back to normal. Maybe June, July or even later, depending on when the scare subsides. The producers of all the big films will come together to chalk out a release calendar for the second half of 2020,” a source close to the film was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror.

‘Coolie No.1’ is the remake of Govinda and Karisma Kapoor’s film of the same name. The cast and crew of the much-awaited movie had wrapped up shoot in March 2020.
