Filmmaker Anurag Basu’s much-anticipated anthology film, ‘Metro… In Dino’, featuring an ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan, is officially slated for a theatrical release on July 4, 2025. 

Joining Aditya and Sara in this star-studded project are veteran actors Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, along with Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh. 

Metro… In Dino release date announced

The announcement was made on social media by the film’s production team. A post from T-Series Films read, “When love, fate, and city life collide, magic is bound to happen! #Metro… इन दिनों brings heartfelt stories from the cities you love. Experience it on #July4th in cinemas near you.” 

About Metro… In Dino

'Metro… In Dino' is described as a contemporary take on urban relationships, highlighting the emotional struggles, joys, and heartbreaks of modern love stories. The film serves as a spiritual sequel to Anurag Basu’s critically acclaimed Life in a… Metro (2007), known for its soulful storytelling and memorable soundtrack. 

With dialogues penned by Samrat Chakraborty and music composed by Pritam, the film is expected to be a moving exploration of interconnected narratives in a bustling metropolis. The title is inspired by the song In Dino from Life in a… Metro, adding a nostalgic touch for fans of the original film. 

Speculation around release date

Earlier, speculation arose about potential delays in the film’s release. However, on March 2, the production team dismissed these rumours, assuring audiences that the film remains on track for its 2025 release. 

Addressing the reports, an official statement from the makers clarified, “Contrary to some media reports claiming that ‘Metro In Dino’ is getting pushed, we confirm the movie is releasing this year in 2025.” 

Metro… In Dino is presented by T-Series in association with Anurag Basu Productions Pvt Ltd. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu. 

For Aditya Roy Kapur, this marks his second collaboration with Anurag Basu after their successful partnership in Ludo.
