Mammootty Turns 71: Mohanlal Wishes His 'Ichakka' With Video Message, Other Celebs Also Extend Wishes

Megastar Mammootty is celebrating his 71st birthday today (September 7), and on this special occasion veteran actor Mohanlal took to Twitter to wish him. They have been good friends for many years.

New Delhi: Megastar Mammootty is celebrating his 71st birthday today (September 7), and on this special occasion veteran actor Mohanlal took to Twitter to wish him. The actors have been good friends for many years.  

Mohanlal shared a video on Twitter in which he can be seen wishing Mammooty prosperity and good health. The text on the video read, "Happy B'day Ichakka. Love and Prayers Mohanlal" In the background, ‘Yeh Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge’ from the film Sholay can be heard. Sharing the post, Mohanlal wrote, "Happy Birthday Dear Ichakka (elder brother)".   

Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan also wished the star on Twitter. His tweet read, “Happy birthday dear @mammukka.” 

Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran also took to Twitter to wish the megastar on his birthday. 

Director Unni Mukundan, and Manju Warrier too wished the actor through their social media handles. 

Malayalam actor and director Ramesh Pisharody wished the star by posting a video on his Facebook account in which a teenage fan is seen chasing Mammootty’s car with the hope of taking a picture of the superstar and he finally gets the picture. The video ends with a text that reads ‘Happy Birthday Mamookka.’ 

Meanwhile, on the eve of his birthday, the superstar unveiled the first look poster of his upcoming film 'Christopher'. The film features Mammootty as a ‘vigilante cop’ and is directed by B Unnikrishnan and written by Uday Krishna. 

Mammooty shared the poster with the caption, “Presenting The First Look Poster of #Christopher. Written by #Udaykrishna , Directed by Unnikrishnan B & Produced by #RDIlluminations.” The tagline of the film reads, “Biography of a vigilant cop.” 

'Christopher' marks director Unnikrishnan and Mammooty’s reunion after a gap of 12 years. Their last film together was Pramani in 2010. 

The film also stars Amala Paul, Aishwariya Lakshmi, Dilesh Pothen, Siddique, Jinu Abraham and will be shot in Ernakulam, Pooyakootty and Vandiperiyar among other places. The music is given by Justin Verghese.
