G-Dragon Breaks Silence In Alleged Drug Scandal, Says 'I Will Actively Cooperate With Police Investigations'

Popular K-pop singer and former Big Bang member G-Dragon was arrested in a drug case by South Korean police in Incheon on Wednesday.

New Delhi: Popular K-pop singer and former Big Bang member G-Dragon was arrested in a drug case by South Korean police in Incheon on Wednesday. According to News 1, Naver News G-Dragon has reportedly been booked by the Incheon (Seoul) Police Agency on charges of violation of the drug management law without being remanded into custody.

Recently, G-Dragon released a statement in which he denied the allegations of drug abuse. The statement was released by his attorney.

Soompi quoted the statement, "This is Kwon Ji Yong [G-Dragon’s given name]. First, there is no truth to the claim that I have taken drugs. Additionally, I have no relation to the news reports about the violation of the Act on the Control of Narcotics, etc. that were recently revealed in the media.

However, because I know many people are concerned, I will actively cooperate with police investigations and will participate even more diligently." He further said:
Earlier, a report from Soompi indicated that police were unable to provide any "specific information" due to the ongoing investigation into the drug case.

Additionally, the report noted that the alleged drug case of G-Dragon had "absolutely no connection" to the ongoing drug scandal concerning Parasite star Lee Sun Kyun. Recently, many more celebrities have been under police scanners for drug-related offenses. Some of these celebrities have already been booked, while more arrests are likely to be made by the police. This also led to speculation that BTS was involved in this matter.

Amid the ongoing rumors of K-pop idol drug abuse, the BTS agency has released a statement regarding this matter. As per Soompi, the agency said, “BTS is completely unconnected to the relevant rumor, and [the rumor] is not true in the slightest.”

“We will take strong action against the indiscriminate circulation of rumors,” they also added without talking about the drug charges. The agency will also take legal action against any rumors that are spreading about BTS.

Also, rumors have been swirling that LE SSERAFIM Kim Chae-won, Jeon Soyeon from (G)IL-DLE, and songwriter Park Sun Joo were involved in the case. But their agencies denied any drug involvement.
