'Unconnected To The Relevant Rumour...': BTS' Agency Defends Boy Band Amid Drug Abuse Scandal

BTS agency has released a statement amid the ongoing rumours of K-pop idol drug abuse.

New Delhi: After the arrest of K-pop artists on drug-related charges and growing speculation on the internet about idols being connected to the drug probe, the Korean entertainment industry has been shaken.

Amid the ongoing rumours of K-pop idol drug abuse, the BTS agency has released a statement regarding this matter. As per Soompi, the agency said, “BTS is completely unconnected to the relevant rumour, and [the rumour] is not true in the slightest.”

“We will take strong action against the indiscriminate circulation of rumours,” they also added without talking about the drug charges. The agency will also take legal action against any rumours that are spreading about BTS.

The Big Hit Music agency has been praised by fans for its clarity in the face of numerous conflicting reports.

Recently, G-Dragon was reportedly booked in a drug-related case by Incheon police. The Incheon Police Agency of South Korea has issued a non-arrest warrant for the singer, according to Naver News. This comes after the BigBang member's name was brought up in connection with Lee Sun Kyun's drug-related scandal. Despite having been in charge of the artist for a considerable amount of time, YG Entertainment issued a brief response to the matter, stating that it was difficult to provide an official response due to the fact that the singer is no longer an artist under their management.

According to reports, many other Korean celebrities are under investigation for drug offences, and some have even been arrested. This led to speculation that BTS might be involved. Previously Rumours have been swirling that LE SSERAFIM Kim Chae-won, Jeon Soyeon from (G)IL-DLE, and songwriter Park Sun Joo were involved in the case. But their agencies denied any drug involvement.

BTS consists of seven members: RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jimin, and Jungkook. All of them are following their solo careers, as the group is on hiatus until 2025.
