'Suit Filed For Publicity': Delhi HC Dismisses Juhi Chawla's 5G Petition, Imposes Rs 20 Lakh Fine
According to the latest update, the court has dismissed Juhi Chawla’s plea on the grounds of the plaintiff abusing the process of law.
New Delhi: Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla has been trying to spread awareness about the harmful radiation emerging from mobile towers for a long time now. The actress even filed a petition in Delhi High Court against the implementation of 5G technology in India.
Now, according to the latest update, the court has dismissed Juhi Chawla’s plea on the grounds of the plaintiff abusing the process of law. A cost of Rs 20 lakhs has been imposed on the plaintiffs and the court has even directed Juhi Chawla and others to deposit the remaining court fee. According to a report in PTI, the High Court said that the suit was filed for publicity as Juhi shared the web link of the hearing on social media, which led to interruption by unknown people.
“Suit filed for publicity as Juhi Chawla shared web link of hearing on social media account leading to interruption by unknown people,” the court was quoted as saying by PTI.
Juhi Chawla filed the petition against implementing 5G technology in India and appealed before the court to closely look at all kinds of studies related to it. The actress also asked the Telecom Ministry of the Government of India to conduct a study closely related to the impact of the implementation of 5G technology on the common people, all animals, flora and fauna in her petition.
The ‘Gulaab Gang’ actress said in a statement to ABP News, “We are not against the implementation of advanced technology. On the contrary, we enjoy the latest products coming out of the world of technology, including wireless communication. However, we are always in a dilemma about using such devices because our own research and studies related to wire-free gadgets and network cell towers clearly show that such radiation can be a major factor in people's health. And it is extremely harmful to their safety.”
Meanwhile, speaking on the professional front, Juhi Chawla was last seen starring in the 2019 movie ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ also starring Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao.
