'Drishyam' Franchise Flies Overseas, Gears Up For Korean Remake At Cannes Film Festival 2024

'Drishyam' franchise, known for its popularity in India and China, is set to expand its global presence. Producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak now has plans for a Korean remake at the Cannes Film Festival 2024. Collaborating with Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films, Panorama Studios is set to create a Hollywood version of Drishyam, marking a significant achievement for Indian cinema.

Languages In Which 'Drishyam' Will Be Made:

Panorama Studios has acquired international remake rights for Drishyam 1 & 2 from the original producers, Aashirvad Cinemas. The development of 'Drishyam' is underway in the United States and Korea, with plans for a Spanish language version being finalised.

Kumar Mangat Pathak expresses his excitement about Drishyam's universal appeal and the collaboration with Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films to bring the story to Hollywood, sharing the ambitious goal to produce Drishyam in 10 countries over the next three to five years.

"Drishyam's clever narrative has a universal appeal and we are keen to celebrate this story with audiences worldwide. We are very happy to collaborate with Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films to create this story in English for Hollywood. After Korea and Hollywood, our mission is to produce Drishyam in 10 countries in the next three to five years," he said.

Abhishek Pathak, the director of Drishyam 2, also acknowledged the immense love from Indian audiences and emphasizes the desire to share the captivating story globally. 

He said, "We have received immense love from our Indian audiences, who have made the Drishyam franchise a massive success. The strength of Drishyam lies in its story, and we want it to be enjoyed by audiences globally. We are very happy to collaborate with Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films, who will take this franchise forward in English for the US and other international Hollywood markets."

While the Korean and English versions are in the making, the remake of the Malayalam film has had a successful run in various languages, including Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Sinhala and Chinese.
