Charu Asopa Reveals Sushmita Sen Advised To Prioritize Her Own Happiness And 'Never To Work It Out'

Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen have formally decided to end their relationship and file for divorce, after trying to reconcile for their daughter.

New Delhi: Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen's marital life has always been the talk of the town. Be it their wedding or separation, the couple has always managed to make headlines. However, the couple has now formally decided to end their relationship and file for divorce. Amid all the controversy, Charu Asopa claimed in a recent interview that Sushmita Sen, who is her sister-in-law, has always stood up for her.

In the interview with Siddharth Kannan, Charu Asopa claimed that since she and Rajeev Sen split up, her connections with her friends and family have been worse. Charu went so far as to say that she doesn't even trust her own mother because she didn't defend her when she most needed it. On the contrary, Charu revealed that Sushmita has always been her pillar of strength, asking Charu to prioritise her happiness and never to 'work it out'.

Talking about Sushmita, Charu said, "No she has never said that. She has never told us to work it out. She has always asked me to prioritise my own happiness, from day one. Parents have said that marriage should work and we should try and resolve the differences. But never didi. She always said if you are not happy. Do that which makes you happy."

Charu mentioned that even though she’s close to Sushmita, she never bothered her with her own matters. She said, “I haven’t bothered her about this, or asked her to talk some sense into anybody. But yes, she is family, so she knows when things are rough. I don’t like to bother my in-laws either, they’re elderly, and my mother-in-law is unwell. But whenever the topic has come up when didi has called, she has always told me to focus on myself. She has said that if I’m happier with Rajeev, then that’s what I should do, but if I’m happier away from him, then I should separate.”

Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen, have accused each other of cheating, and she has also accused him of domestic violence. In the interview, she stated that her closest friends have stopped talking to her because they believe she will not leave Rajeev for good, as she has returned to him after every split.

While it has been claimed numerous times that Sushmita Sen is a friend of television actress Charu Asopa, with whom she has intimate chats, it was also said that after their split, Sushmita unfollowed her brother while still following Charu on social media, despite the fact that Rajeev Sen denied all the rumours.

It's been three years since their marriage, and Charu and Rajeev announced their separation earlier this year. Although, they made the decision to give their relationship another chance and were seen enjoying their daughter Ziana's birthday together, later Rajeev reportedly blocked Charu on Instagram and she deleted all his pictures from her social media account.
