Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya wedding
Chaitanya and Sobhita recently tied the knot in a grand wedding ceremony in Hyderabad, attended by several top figures from the Telugu film industry. The actor paid tribute to his legendary grandfather, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, by donning the traditional pancha, reminiscent of his grandfather’s iconic style. Meanwhile, Sobhita honored her family’s legacy by adorning traditional jewelry passed down from her mother and grandmother for the Raata ceremony, a sacred Telugu pre-wedding ritual.
As part of the Raata tradition, a bamboo stick is planted and adorned with leaves from mango, jamun, and Jammi trees. This is then worshipped with sacred materials, including pancha loha (five metals), navaratna (nine gems), and navadhaanya (nine grains). A sacred potli (bag) is tied to the pole, and prayers are offered to the pancha bhuta (five elements) and deities of all eight directions. This ritual is believed to purify and bless the bride as she embarks on her new journey in married life.
Coming to ‘Thandel’, the romantic action thriller, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, also stars Sai Pallavi. The film is inspired by the real-life struggles of fishermen from Srikakulam who accidentally drifted into Pakistani waters during a routine fishing trip, leading to unforeseen challenges.
