Remo D'Souza & Wife Lizelle Break Silence Over Cheating Allegations: 'We Request All To Abstain From Spreading Rumours'

Choreographer Remo D'Souza and his wife Lizelle D'Souza have broken their silence after a case was registered against them over cheating a dance troupe.

New Delhi: Choreographer Remo D'Souza and his wife Lizelle D'Souza have broken their silence after a case was registered against them over cheating a dance troupe. Taking to their Instagram account, they issued a joint statement.

The couple expressed their disappointment about the allegations that are being 'published'. Remo and Lizelle also requested people not to 'spread rumours' before knowing the complete facts. The choreographer also assured fans that their side of the story will also be out soon and that they are closely working with the authorities. 

Theri joint statement read, "It has come to our notice through media reports that some complaint has been registered alleging fraud in regards to a certain dance troupe. It's disheartening that such information has been published. We would like to request everyone to abstain from spreading rumours before ascertaining true facts."

"We shall put our case forward in due time and will continue to cooperate with the authorities in every way possible like we have done so far. We would like to thank our family, friends and fans for the outpouring of love and continuous support. Love always Lizelle & Remo," it read.

According to PTI, as cited by a police official, a case was registered on October 16 at Mira Road police station based on a complaint filed by a 26-year-old dancer under sections 465 (forgery), 420 (cheating), and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code.

As per the FIR, the troupe were allegedly cheated between 2018 and July 2024. The troupe won a TV show and reportedly posed as if the group was theirs and claimed the prize money of Rs. 11.96 cr. The other accused in the case include Ramesh Gupta, Vinod Raut, a police officer, Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, Rohit Jadhav, and the Frame Production Company.
