Mouni Roy Was Background Dancer In A Song From Abhishek Bachchan's Film Run: '50,000 In Two Days Was A Lot Of Money'
Not many know that before Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Mouni Roy was a part of background dancers in one of the songs of Abhishek Bachchan’s 2004 film ‘Run’.
It is widely known that Mouni Roy made her debut with Ekta Kapoor’s popular show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ at the age of 19. However not many know that before the show, Mouni was also part of background dancers in one of the songs of Abhishek Bachchan’s 2004 film ‘Run’.

In a conversation with Mashable India, Mouni shared how got the opportunity to be a part of the song titled ‘Nahin Hona’ from the film during her college days.
“I used to dance in a choreography society. It so happened that one of our choreographers was choreographing. So basically, it was quick money. So, she spotted me dancing and asked whether I want to do it. For a college girl Rs 50,000 in two days was a lot of money at that point of time. Not just me, there were two, three of us from the choreography society, who were in the song. So we all went, it was fun.”
When questioned about the song, Mouni didn’t disclose its name, simply stating, “We'll look it up.”

“The choreographer said ‘do you want to go dance? It is quick money’. I heard Abhishek Bachchan was in the film and I was like wow,” she further said.
When asked what was her experience of the shoot, the actress replied, “Kuch samajh nahi aaya wo do din kaise beete. We were given instructions like go stand there, do this, do that. I took a camera and clicked a picture with Abhishek sir and asked for his autograph and that’s it.”

She also shared that someone tapped on her shoulder outside her college in Delhi and asked if she wants to audition for a show. That is how she landed an audition for 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ and eventually got the part of Tulsi's daughter.
“I thought I’ll do this as a summer job and then go back but that never happened because I honestly fell in love. For someone who is 19 years old, just imagine to come here… Our working hours used to be very different. We’d be on 3-4 hours of sleep and I still did not mind it,” she further said.
Mouni also shared that her first paycheque for the show was Rs 1.5 lakh.
