In the early hours of Thursday, Saif Ali Khan, 54, was attacked when an intruder entered his home around 3 am. The assailant stabbed the actor during what appeared to be a burglary attempt.

Saif underwent surgery for his injuries at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital and is now reported to be in stable condition. The Mumbai police have launched a probe and assigned six teams to apprehend the attacker.

Kareena Kapoor issues statement

Saif Ali Khan's wife and actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has issued a statement requesting media and paparazzi to give the Pataudi family the 'time to heal' amid this challenging hour.

In an Instagram story, Kareena shared, "It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. As we navigate this difficult time, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from the relentless speculation and coverage. While we appreciate the concern and support, the constant scrutiny and attention are not only overwhelming but also pose a significant risk to our safety."

She added further, "I kindly request that you respect our boundaries and give us the space we need to heal and cope as a family. I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation during this sensitive time."

Saif Ali Khan's health update

The actor, who was rushed to Lilavati Hospital after the incident, underwent surgery and is now stable. Fans and well-wishers have been sending him prayers and support as he makes a steady recovery.

As per police reports, the intruder got into an argument with the maid, and when Saif stepped in to diffuse the situation, he was attacked. Initial investigations indicate that the intruder did not forcibly break into the flat but likely sneaked in during the night.
