In the 1990s and early 2000s, SRK and Salman were known to be very close. They starred together in multiple films, such as 'Karan Arjun' (1995), which was a massive box office success and showcased their on-screen chemistry. Their camaraderie extended beyond the screen, with the two often seen at parties and public events together, solidifying their friendship.

However, their relationship hit a rough patch in the mid-2000s. Their infamous fallout at Katrina Kaif's birthday party in 2008 made headlines, and for several years, the two kept their distance, leading to rumors of a bitter rivalry. During this period, fans and media speculated on their professional competition, often pitting the two actors against each other in terms of box office numbers and film successes.
