New Delhi: Amitabh Bachchan was born in Allahabad on October 11, 1942, to social activist Teji Bachchan and poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Bachchan made his cinematic debut in 1969 as a voice narrator in Mrinal Sen's National Award-winning film Bhuvan Shome. His debut acting role was as one of seven protagonists in the movie 'Saat Hindustani', directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas and starring Utpal Dutt, Anwar Ali, Madhu, and Jalal Agha.
