Ali Asgar Reveals He Stopped Taking Woman's Role After His Son Asked 'Aapko Kuch Aur Nahi Aata?'

In the latest episode of 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa' television actor Ali Asgar broke down while remembering how his kids were trolled in school due to his portrayal of women characters.

New Delhi: Television actor Ali Asgar is a part of the latest season of the celebrity dance show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'. In the family special episode of the show, the actor broke down while remembering how his kids were trolled in school due to his portrayal of women characters. 

Ali’s son Nuyaan Asgar and daughter Ada Asgar made a special appearance on the show via a video message. In the video, his daughter talked about the negative reactions of kids in school due to Asgar’s acting stints.  “Our school friends used to tease us, tell us that you have two mothers. They would make tattoos saying ‘dadi ka beta (Dadi’s son), dadi ki beti (Dadi’s daughter), Basanti, etc. He used to make fun of himself to make others laugh. That’s not everyone’s cup of tea. We love you dad.” 

Ali broke down after watching the video while Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa judge Madhuri Dixit told Kapil, "We love you.” 

Ali also shared that he stopped accepting women characters after his son once asked him, ‘Aapko kuch aur nahi aata? (Don’t you know something else)’. 

Ali revealed the incident, “One day while we were eating on a Saturday when we saw an advertisement that said Ali and (an another actor) are working together. While Ali will be seen as ‘Bahu’, the other actor will be a doctor. My son just looked at me and asked, ‘Aapko kuch aur aata nahi hai?’ I asked, ‘Why? What happened?’ He told me, ‘Everyone tease me in school’. I ignored it. In Sunday’s episode, I again acted as a female. He (my son) walked out. That’s when I realised maybe I should not do it. I kept on refusing work. For nine months, I was without work because I was just getting this work only. I am an actor I was just playing a character."

Apart from Ali Asgar, Rubina Dilaik, Nia Sharma, Shilpa Shinde, and Niti Taylor are some of the contestants of 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'. Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar, and Nora Fatehi are the judges while Maniesh Paul is the host of the show.
