'We Aren't Parivaar Wala But We Understand Pain Of Families': PM Modi In UP's Barabanki

During his address, he attacked the opposition saying that these “Parivarwadis (dynasts) never wanted the poor people to get anything.”

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a Vishal Jan Sabha in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki today. As the state undergoes the fourth phase of assembly election in which 59 constituencies go to polling, the major parties in UP that are at loggerheads are BJP and SP.

During his address, he attacked the opposition saying that these “Parivarwadis (dynasts) never wanted the poor people to get anything.”

“Dynasts want the poor to always be at their feet and keep revolving around them. We care for the poor and we are working to bring down the problems in their lives. That is why, today the poor of UP is standing with BJP & is blessing BJP in all phases,” he added.

He further talked about women empowerment in the state saying “More than 10 crores of our sisters and daughters have a big role to play in increasing the power of UP. If our sisters, daughters remain in bondage and remain in bondage, then UP cannot achieve the pace of rapid development.”

He said, "I would like to ask dynasts who say that they have a family & know the pain of families, why did they not care about Muslim daughters? They had to return to their father's home with their young children. Why did they not feel the pain of families?"

He said that the BJP government has not only increased the participation of daughters in the police, but we are expanding the participation of daughters in paramilitary forces like CRPF, BSF, and also in the army.

He further added that the number of women police officers has increased more than 1.25 lakhs which was only 11,000 before Yogi came to power. More than 20,000 women are appointed in the police force. Women are also being included in BSF and paramilitary forces.

Attacking the previous governments, he said that ‘Parivarwadis’ can only see the ballot box and not anyone’s pain. He said, "We are not 'parivaar wala' but we identify the pain of all families because entire India is our family, entire Uttar Pradesh is my family. All of you are members of my family."

However, his government has ensured the benefits for women in the state. He added that most of the PM Awaas yojana houses are registered under the name of women. And it was his government that provided gas connections, toilets, and proper electricity and water supplies.

He then went on to talk about Triple Talaq and said that criminalization of this practice provides security to not only Muslim women but also to their maiden families.

PM Modi then talked about the farmers of the state saying that it was only the BJP government that talked about small and landless farmers. He added that the PM KISAN scheme has helped around 5 lakh farmers only in Barabanki which cost around Rs 800 crore through direct benefit transfer.

He added that the Biogas plants that are being set up in the state will benefit farmers further as it will increase their earnings by selling dung, and reduce fertilizer expenses.

He also said that it is only his government that has focused on the vaccination of cattle which costs around Rs 13,000 crores to protect them from various diseases.

Uttar Pradesh is undergoing assembly elections for 403 constituencies in seven phases. Three phases of the assembly polls have been concluded. Today, polling for the fourth phase is ongoing. The final phase of the assembly polls will be conducted on March 7 and the results of the election will be declared on March 10, 2022.
