WATCH: Puducherry CM Rangasamy Arrives To Polling Booth On Motorcycle

The incumbent Puducherry CM Rangasamy drove a Yamaha RX 100 to his polling booth with his security personnel following him.

Puducherry Chief Minister Rangasamy cast his vote by arriving at a polling booth on a motorcycle in Delarshpet of Puducherry. The incumbent CM arrived by driving a Yamaha RX 100 with his security personnel following him. He cast his vote at 8:45 AM. 

In Puducherry, a direct faceoff has emerged between the Congress and BJP. Congress candidate V Vaithilingamn and BJP's A Namassivayam are competing head-to-head in the electoral race.

Rangasamy is known for his love for motorcycles and he frequently visits the people of his constituency consistently on his bike. 

Apart from Rangasamy, former Puducherry CM Narayanasamy, BJP candidate Namassivayam and Puducherry Collector Kulothungan have cast their vote. 

According to the data released by Election Commission at 9 AM, the union territory recorded 10.11% voter turnout. 

In rural areas, various polling stations presented a mixed scenario of voter turnout, with some witnessing moderate participation while others experienced high levels of engagement. Among those who exercised their franchise were Kothandapani (89) and his 86-year-old wife Krishnammal, who arrived at a booth in the Veerampattinam coastal village within the Ariyankuppam Assembly constituency. Kothandapani, the grandfather of AIADMK contestant G. Tamizhvendhan, was accompanied by his family members, as confirmed by sources at the polling booth, according to a report on PTI.

Volunteers were present to assist elderly and disabled voters in accessing the polling booths with ease. Additionally, police personnel also helped senior citizens to enter the booth to exercise their voting rights.
