UP Election Results 2022: As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) looks set to win the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, party workers in the state have started to rejoice.
In Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency, BJP workers were seen celebrating the lead by showering flower petals at each other. Wearing saffron coloured turbans the workers chanted victory slogans. The workers had a huge smile on their face and could be seen holding cutouts of PM Modi and Yogi Adityanath.
The celebrations did not stop at this. The workers played drums and distributed sweets among themselves.

In the trends so far, the BJP seems to bag 250 plus seats, leaving its closest rival Samajwadi Party far behind with around 120 seats. The number is enough for Yogi Adityanath to again form government in the state. In the 403-member assembly, a party needs to secure simple majority of 202 seats.
If the BJP manages a victory in the state as the trend suggests, Yogi Adityanath will become the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for the second consecutive term, breaking 35-year jinx.
Adityanath contested the assembly election for the first time from the Gorakhpur Constituency and is leading by good number.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh elections, the BJP had won by a huge margin of 312 seats, which looks like being repeated.
