BJP Candidate Tamilisai Soundarajan Pays For Vada Via UPI Amid Campaign, Hails Digital Development

Tamilisai Soundararajan completed the payment for her purchase through UPI and underscored the digitalization and women empowerment under PM Modi's leadership. 

Tamilisai Soundarajan, BJP's candidate for South Chennai constituency started her campaign from the bustling streets of Koyambedu on Wednesday. During the campaign, the former Governor visited a quaint shop managed by a woman entrepreneur and had a vada at the stall. Later, she completed the payment through UPI and underscored the digitalization and women empowerment under PM Modi's leadership. 

According to ANI, during the election campaign in the Koyambedu area, BJP South Chennai constituency candidate Dr Tamilisai Soundarajan had 'Vada' with the party workers at a stall operated by women and made payment via UPI.

BJP South Chennai constituency candidate Dr Tamilisai Soundarajan said, "I wanted to reveal the development practically. I took 'vada' from a roadside shop. The owner was a woman; Women Empowerment. And the payment was digital. This is the development we all were dreaming of... The development has reached the downtrodden level, to the street level, to the marginalised people, the women. There is nothing that I have to propagate. Everything is revealed here. PM Modi has reached this level. Our country is in development mode..."

Tamilisai Soundararajan, a medical doctor, served as Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. Before the nomination, she quit her position as the Governor and joined the BJP again. 

She is set to contest from South Chennai constituency against DMK candidate and sitting MP Thamizhachi Thangapandian and former MP Jayavardhan. Tamil Nadu will vote in Parliamentary Elections on April 19.
