Sonu Sood's Car Confiscated During Voting In Punjab, Actor Claims Of Threat Calls At Polling Booths

He tweeted to the Election Commission claiming that candidates from other parties were buying votes and demanded an action.

New Delhi: Actor Sonu Sood’s car was confiscated and was sent home as he was trying to enter a polling booth, said Moga District PRO Prabhdeep Singh. He further said that action will be taken against the actor if he steps out of his house.

The actor responded to the situation and claimed that they came to know about threat calls being given by members of the opposition party at various polling booths. He also claimed that money was being distributed at some polling stations and cited these reasons to visit the polling booths.

“We got to know of threat calls at various booths by the opposition, especially the people of Akali Dal. Money being distributed at some booths. So it's our duty to go check & ensure fair elections. That's why we had gone out. Now, we're at home. There should be fair polls,” the actor said.

He tweeted to the Election Commission claiming that candidates from other parties were buying votes and demanded action.

Sonu Sood’s sister Malvika Sood is contesting the Punjab Assembly Election from the Moga seat on Congress ticket.

Comedian Kapil Sharma, actor Suneil Shetty and cricketer Harbhajan Singh had extended their best wishes to Malvika Sood for contesting the elections.

Punjab is witnessing an intense fight as Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, Shiromani Akali Dal and Bahujan Samaj Party alliance, and a coalition of Bharatiya Janata Party and Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Lok Congress is in the field.
