Rajya Sabha Polls: Congress's Sonia Gandhi To BJP's Ashwini Vaishnaw — Check Full List Of Candidates

Congress has fielded its former party president Sonia Gandhi while BJP has nominated several candidates including Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the upcoming Rajya Sabha polls.

A day before the nomination ends for the Rajya Sabha polls, several parties have released the list of their candidates for the bienniel polls to the Upper House of the Parliament. The polls will be held on February 27 for 56 seats across 15 states. 

The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Union ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and L Murugan, party spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi, and former Union minister RPN Singh for the Upper House of the Parilament. Four of the seven Rajya Sabha candidates fielded by the saffron party R P N Singh, Chaudhary Tejveer Singh, Amarpal Maurya, and Sangeeta Balwant belong to backward castes in a bid by the party to reach out to various communities ahead of Lok Sabha polls. 

Congress has fielded four candidates including former party president Sonia Gandhi from Rajasthan and Abhishek Manu Singhvi from Himachal Pradesh. 

Actor-turned-politician Jaya Bachchan has been nominated by Samajwadi Party whereas former Bihar minister Sanjay Kumar Jha has been fielded by Janata Dal (United) 

Trinamool Congress has given four tickets including to veteran journalist Sagarika Ghose while. 

YSRCP has nominated three candidates while Biju Janata Dal has given tickets to two candidates and announced support to Vaishnaw.
