'Vote For AIMIM To Get...': Owaisi Targets Ruling Party, BJP In Rajasthan, Cong Hits Back With 'B-Team' Jibe

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi urged voters in Rajasthan to vote for his party to get freedom from hatred while the Congress hit back at him calling his party a "B-team of BJP".

All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday urged the voters in Rajasthan to vote for his party to get freedom from hatred, inequality, and discrimination. Addressing a public meeting in Rajasthan’s Jaipur, Owaisi alleged that hatred among people has increased since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014. He also said that people will have to understand their political strength if they want to end hatred and communalism. 

Earlier there was only BJP and Congress to choose from, but now AIMIM is an option too. 

"If you want to get freedom from hatred, get shareholding and equality, end discrimination and strengthen brotherhood then vote for AIMIM," he said. 

"Hatred has increased after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014 and if people want to end hatred and communalism then people need to understand their political strength," he added. 

The AIMIM is making its debut in the Rajasthan polls scheduled to be held in a single phase on November 25. The party has fielded candidates from Hawa Mahal in Jaipur, Fatehpur in Sikar, and Kaman in Bharatpur district.

Owaisi said that he is blamed by the political parties for the splitting of votes wherever he contests elections.

"I am contesting elections in Rajasthan for the first time. How did 25 BJP MPs win from the state in 2019? People in the Congress won't be able to give an answer to it. Tomorrow, those responsible in the Congress will say Owaisi came and gave a provocative speech," he said, as he urged people not to vote under anyone's fear.

The Congress party later, indeed, hit back at Owaisi alleging his party to be a ‘B-team of the BJP’ 

Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said that AIMIM is coming, again and again, to make BJP win and claimed that it will not get any votes. 

"It (AIMIM) is BJP's B team. They are coming again and again to make the BJP win but they will not get votes because the voter knows that they do not have to divide their votes... In Jaipur, we won 5 seats out of 8, this time our target is 8 out of 8,” said the minister.
