'Language He Used Is Objectionable': Rajasthan CM Gehlot After PM Modi Calls Congress 'Terror-Sympathiser'

After PM Modi called the Congress 'Terrorist Sympathiser', Gehlot criticised him for his remarks and said that the language he used is objectionable in a democracy.

Rajasthan Elections 2023: Day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the Congress "Terrorist Sympathiser", Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot criticised him for his remarks and said that the language he used is objectionable in a democracy. He further said that the election is being fought on ideology, and it should be limited to that. Taking a swipe at the Prime Minister, Gehlot said he is nervous because of the atmosphere in Rajasthan.

"Someone has misguided the PM or he has not been briefed properly... The language he used yesterday is objectionable in a democracy... Or maybe he is nervous because of the atmosphere in Rajasthan and making such statements... BJP's people murdered Kanhaiya Lal... We had caught the accused (in Kanhaiya Lal's murder) within 2 hours, still, the NIA took the case the same day but we did not take any objection... Now the NIA should come forward and give details of the case... I would request the PM to not use such language. We are fighting the election on ideology and he should let it remain limited to it," Gehlot said.

Hitting out at the grand old party over several issues in Rajasthan, PM Modi said on Thursday that the state needs a BJP government that respects the state's culture. "Today there is a Congress government here, that is why terrorist organisations like PFI hold rallies without any fear. The Congress government, a sympathiser of terrorists, will accept this by destroying Rajasthan," PM Modi said, as quoted by ANI.

The Prime Minister was addressing an election rally in Udaipur. Speaking at the rally, he also alleged that under the Congress government, incidents that are a "shame on humanity" are happening with the people of Rajasthan. "The terrorist incident with Kanhaiyalal ji in Udaipur is a big stain on the Congress government. Such a heinous incident happened in Udaipur because there is a Congress government that sympathises with the terrorists," he added, as quoted by ANI.
