Punjab Election | ‘One Party Has Already Bowed Down Before Its Industrialist Friends’: Priyanka Gandhi Targets BJP
Addressing an election rally in Pathankot, the Congress leader said Punjabiyat is the sense that doesn't bow down before anyone but the almighty.
New Delhi: Firing a fresh salvo at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Thursday alleged one political party has already bowed down before its industrialist friends.
Addressing an election rally in Pathankot, the Congress leader said Punjabiyat is the sense that doesn't bow down before anyone but the almighty.
“Out of all the political parties that come before you and talk about Paunjabiyat, one has already bowed down before its industrialist friends,” Gandhi added, ANI reported.
Gandhi’s remarks come as campaigning gains momentum for the Punjab Assembly elections.

Earlier on February 6, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi announced incumbent Charanjit Singh Channi as the party’s CM face for the Punjab Assembly polls.
Gandhi, who made this announcement while addressing a rally at Ludhiana, asserted that the party has no dearth of capable leaders.
The announcement came amid reports of infighting in the party’s state unit.
Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu, however, last week countered the claims of infighting in the party’s state unit and said none have any issue with the high command’s decision.
“Where is the internal infighting in Congress? Rahul Gandhi Ji has given a decision and we all have welcomed it. No one has any issue with the high command's decision,” said Sidhu.
Voting for the Punjab Assembly will be in a single phase on February 20. The results will be declared on March 10.
In the 2017 Punjab Assembly polls, the Congress won 77 seats in the 117-member House, whereas the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) could win only 18 seats.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) emerged as the second-largest party with 20 seats.
