Punjab Election 2022: BJP Announces Seat Sharing Formula. Amarinder Singh's Party Gets 37 Seats, SAD-Sanyukt 15 seats
BJP on Monday announced the seat-sharing formula with its ally for the Punjab assembly election 2022.
New Delhi: After much talks and deliberations, BJP on Monday announced the seat-sharing formula with its ally for the Punjab assembly election 2022.
BJP president JP Nadda announced BJP will be contesting the 117-member Punjab assembly on 65 seats. While its ally and newly floated party by former state Chief Minister Amarinder Singh's Punjab Lok Congress chief will be fighting on 37 seats. The third member of BJP's alliance in the state, SAD-Sanyukt will be contesting on 15 seats.

BJP president JP Nadda, pointing at the recent PM Modi security lapse incident said the state "needs special attention."
Security is a very important issue (for Punjab). This assembly election is for stability and safety. Our motto is to bring back Punjab on track," JP Nadda said.
Highlighting the work of the NDA government, BJP president JP Nadda boasted PM Modi's action-taking abilities on pending issues such as SIT probe in the 1984 Sikh riots.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has constituted SIT to probe the 1984 riots & today accused are in jails. We will abolish 'Mafia Raj' in Punjab," BJP president JP Nadda said during the seat-sharing announcement.

Assembly elections in Punjab will be held in a single phase with votes to be cast on February 20. Votes will be counted on March 10.
