PM Modi Rips Into Oppn Over Inheritance Tax, Reservation Policies At Bihar Rallies, Alleges Cong-RJD Nexus

PM Modi accused the Congress of “stealing” reservations meant for OBCs, SCs, and STs to Muslims in Karnataka, echoing similar concerns for Bihar.

New Delhi: Tearing into the Opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the recent Supreme Court ruling on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) was a “tight slap” to the Congress and its alliance partners in the I.N.D.I.A bloc, who he accused of sowing distrust against EVMs and asked them to apologise for their “sins”.

Addressing two rallies in Bihar’s Araria and Munger, PM Modi said, “When the Congress, the RJD and other I.N.D.I alliance parties were in power, the poor, backwards and Dalits used to be deprived of their votes through booth capture. With the introduction of Electronic Voting Machines, they are no longer able to play their old game. Hence, they committed the sin of creating distrust against EVMs.”

However, he hailed the recent Supreme Court decision rejecting pleas for cross-verification of votes cast through EVMs with Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) as a validation of the reliability of EVMs.

PM Modi also accused the Congress of “stealing” reservations meant for Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), and Scheduled Tribes (STs) to Muslims in Karnataka, echoing similar concerns for Bihar. He vowed to safeguard reservations for these marginalised communities against political exploitation.

“Being an OBC myself, I know the hardships faced by the backward classes. In Karnataka, they introduced a law overnight and said that all Muslims are OBC. As a result, the Muslims got a huge part in the 27% reservation for the OBC. They cut the OBC reservation... They want to do the same in the whole country... The RJD is in full support of this. The rights of the OBC are being looted. As long as Modi exists, these people cannot loot the rights of ST, SC, OBC and distribute them on the basis of religion. This is Modi's guarantee,” he said.

Further slamming the Congress manifesto and its alleged bias towards certain demographics, PM Modi lambasted its leaders without naming them, for proposing inheritance tax and other policies detrimental to the interests of the people.

“Through the Inheritance Tax, Congress and RJD will loot your wealth and distribute it to their special vote bank. The whole country is worried. The country is saying, 'Congress ki loot, Zindagi ke sath bhi, Zindagi ke baad bhi'... They will loot even after death. RJD is walking shoulder-to-shoulder with the Congress in this scheme,” PM Modi said.
