Nagaland Polls: After Lok Sabha Election, Congress Won't Be Visible Even Through A Telescope, Says Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Congress would be a non-existent entity in Indian politics after the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently condemned the Congress spokesperson's derogatory language towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a public meeting. He also said that Congress would be reduced to a non-existent entity in Indian politics after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

"The kind of language the Congress spokesperson has used (for PM) and the sort of reaction it has drawn from people from across the country... you will see Rahul Gandhi that the Congress will not be visible even through a telescope after the Lok Sabha polls in 2024. People will respond through the ballot box," Shah said at a public meeting in Mon, Nagaland.

Though Shah did not mention the word used by the spokesperson, BJP leaders said it was in relation to Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera, who had recently referred to PM Modi as "Narendra Gautamdas Modi" while criticizing the government over the Gautam Adani row.

Shah said that the people of India will respond through the ballot box and that the Congress will not be visible even through a telescope after the Lok Sabha polls in 2024. He said that the PM has brought happiness to the lives of the country's 80 crores poor and ensured the country's security and development. Shah stressed that the prime minister is respected worldwide, and the kind of language used is unacceptable.

Shah also reiterated the BJP's commitment to solving the Naga peace talks and the issues of the Eastern Nagaland People's Organisation (ENPO), which has been demanding a separate state. The BJP leader also assured the people that the NDPP-BJP coalition would retain power after the polls and solve all problems of the state.

Shah claimed that the NDPP-BJP coalition would form the government in Nagaland after the polls, and the government would work on the issues raised by ENPO. The BJP leader also mentioned that the visit was the first by any Union Home Minister to this district in the eastern tip of Nagaland, which also shared boundaries with Myanmar.

The BJP leader took a swipe at the Congress and Rahul Gandhi, claiming that Congress leaders had increasingly indulged in mudslinging against Prime Minister Modi since Rahul Gandhi became the party leader. Shah reiterated the BJP's commitment to bring the Naga peace talks to a successful end and solve the Naga political problem quickly. He stated that the NDPP-BJP government would work on all the needs, such as extra-budgetary allocations, more power to the council, and equal development.
