ZPM Chief Lalduhoma To Take Oath As Mizoram CM On Dec 8

The ZPM will form the next Mizoram administration, with ZPM chairman Lalduhoma taking the oath as Mizoram's next chairman Minister.

Mizoram's newly elected Chief Minister, Lalduhoma, will be sworn in on Friday, December 8, news agency ANI reported. In Mizoram, the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) won 27 of the 40 assembly constituencies. The meeting of the newly elected MLAs of Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) will be held at the residence of Lalduhoma, Chief Ministerial candidate of ZPM in Aizawl today at 8 pm. The ZPM will form the next Mizoram administration, with ZPM chairman Lalduhoma taking the oath as Mizoram's next chairman Minister.

According to Election Commission results released yesterday, the Mizo National Front (MNF) won ten seats, the BJP two, and the Congress one.

Lalduhoma, the Chief Ministerial candidate of the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), defeated J Malsawmzuala Vanchhawng of the Mizo National Front by 8,314 votes in the Serchhip seat.

Lalduhoma stated: "After swearing in, we will announce our top priority projects for the next 100 days."

"Mizoram is facing a financial crisis and the financial condition is very bad. We are going to inherit from the outgoing government. In spite of this, we are going to honour our commitment. That is buying of four selected items - ginger, turmeric, chilli and broom stick. These four items have been identified," he added.

Lalduhoma went on to say that we are farmers' friends, and we must prioritise them, adding: "We declared the minimum price and we are going to start now. Right now, we are going to go through the process of buying these four items. In spite of all the constraints we are facing, this is our commitment to the people and we are going to honour it. This is our first priority."

Lalduhoma stated that there will be consolidation in finance, alluding to the state's financial reform. He stated that a resource mobilisation team comprised of experienced individuals will be created to oversee austerity measures, investment measures, manpower evaluation, and other initiatives.

'Can't Turn A Blind Eye On Them': ZPM's MLA Lalnghinglova Hmar On Myanmar Issue

Speaking about the Myanmar conflict, ZPM's newly-elected MLA Lalnghinglova Hmar stated: "The issue is something which relates to international politics and also which is very sensitive. But having said that, people living on the other side of the border are also our brothers and sisters."

"They are all Mizos, separated by the British policy of divide and rule. So, we can't turn a blind eye to our own brothers and sisters who are living on the other side of the border. But these things are very case-sensitive issues, I don't want to comment further on that. The party will take a decision on this," he further stated.
